About Maureen Wiseman's Puppet Collection

Maureen Wiseman was an Australian nurse in the second world war. When the war was over Maureen was left widdowed with 2 young daughters. To try and keep them entertained Moureen began to make puppets using the Mcalls Pattern 1659 containing instructions for 5 puppets a puppet theatre and 2 scripts. The Puppets and Scripts are now being proserved by The Powerhouse Museum in Autrailia after being aquired in 2020.
